Rose Absolute Essential Oil (10 ml)
Rose's Story
If Jasmine is the epitome of Sensuality, Rose is the essence of pure Love.
Beyond her charm and sensuality, Roses possesses a genuine generosity and willingness to care. She is the ultimate lover, in that she can understand love at a very base spiritual level and come to terms with the intricacies of human beings.
Most usually Rose will work in creative industries where she can bring forward her sense of beauty and esthetics. She makes the best artist as well as spiritual counselor. Rose will always take the most difficult cases: heartbreak, grief and trauma; she knows how to deal with them gently and carefully, and help them bloom into their best selves. Unlike Lavender, who is capable of ultimate sacrifice for the others, Rose doesn’t need to do that. Her reserves are infinite so she knows how to practice self-care as well as tend for others. Rose’s biggest mission is to convince people to accept themselves exactly as they are and love themselves unconditionally.
Aroma
Exquisite, rich, persistent, honeyed and floral. Rose is very important in perfumery.
Clinical Applications
Mood: Rose has an aroma that is both relaxing and uplifting. It can be inhaled or used in topical applications for relieving stress, depression and anxiety. (Hongratanaworakit 2009). Rose also has antidepressant action (Perry and Perry 2006). These properties make it ideal for adding to blends for moderating mood swings, including those associated with PMS. Rose works equally well in feminine as well as masculine blends. Another study showed that Rose is an effective sedative (Rakhshandah et al. 2004).
Musculoskeletal: Rose is an excellent addition to massage blends formulated for reducing muscle tension, aches, and pains. This is because of its analgesic (Hosseini et al. 2003 cited by Boskabady, Kiani and Rakhshandah 2006) and anti-inflammatory properties (de Cássia da Silveira e Sá et al. 2014) in addition to its calming and uplifting actions.
Respiratory support: Phenyl ethyl alcohol, a major component of the absolute, has been shown to relieve histamine-related bronchoconstriction and may have anti-asthmatic actions (Chi et al. cited by de Cassia da Silveira e Sá et al. 2014). In addition, the citronellol component of Rose has direct vasorelaxant action on vascular smooth muscle (Bastos et al. 2010). These components make Rose effective for reducing bronchial spasms and inflammation. It may be helpful for alleviating asthma.
Skincare: Topical application of Rose has moisturizing and balancing actions on the skin, which helps reduce dryness and improve skin texture. It has traditionally used in a wide range of skincare preparations for the face, especially in blends formulated for healing, regeneration and acne. Rose absolute is rich in phenyl ethanol, which has strong anti-inflammatory properties (de Cássia da Silveira e Sá et al. 2014) and antioxidant properties (Ulusoy et al. 2009). Casetti et al. (2011).
PMS & Menopause: Rose is one of the best oils to use to manage menopause related symptoms. It balances the hormones, purifies the reproductive system and induces calm. It also helps cool hot flashes when used as a mist.
